Knowledge Mobilization and Outreach

Central to all of the work conducted in the L2O Lab is the belief that science should not be isolated within peer-reviewed journal articles and should address real societal needs and questions. Partnerships and active knowledge exchange with First Nations, provincial and federal governments, and other organizations (NGOs) are therefore at the heart of all of the work that is undertaken. How this looks is tailored for each research project and we're always interested in innovative approaches to mobilizing the results of the work that is undertaken.

We also recognize that the work that we do builds on an already extensive body of knowledge and actively participate in knowledge synthesis and coordination activities, including in international efforts to coordinate sample collection and in formalized scientific assessment processes. We have previously been involved in the drafting of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme and the Canadian Mountain Assessment and are currently involved in the national Living in Our Changing Climate assessment.
